Milwaukee Brewers team history
The Milwaukee Brewers started their team history as the Seattle Pilots, and they were purchased from the California Angels on October 25, 1967.
The team were originally going to start in the Pacific Coast League but eventually upgraded to playing in the American League West.
This is how they started their season in 1969, finishing 68-94.
It was then the next year (1970) that they went from Seattle to Milwaukee. At this time, the team changed its name from the Pilots to the Brewers.

The Milwaukee Brewers won one pennant in 1982, making their only World Series appearance.
They are one of six MLB teams that have never won the World Series.

Christian Yelich
Even looking at Christian Yelich could be intimidating as he stood at 6 '3 with a 207-pound frame.
During his career, the Brewers outfielder won MVP in 2018, winning a batting title the same year.
He defended this title in 2019 and he won three Silver Sluggers in four years (2016, 2018 and 2019).
He also proved he could field with the 2014 Gold Glove Award.
Prince Fielder
While Yelich was big and intimidating, Prince Fielder could be even worse.
The 5 '11 275-pound six-time All-Star won two home run derbies (2009, 2012), three Silver Sluggers (2007, 2011 and 2012) and he was also All-Star game MVP in 2011.
Ricky Bones
Ricky Bones was a middle reliever for the Brew Crew and he made his one All-Star game in 1994.
He showed his superior fielding ability in 1995 when he had a perfect fielding percentage.
Paul Molitor
Paul Molitor played with the Brewers for the bulk of his career. In fact, 15 of his 21 seasons.
He played for the Toronto Blue Jays when they won the World Series in 1993, a season in which he was also the World Series MVP.
He spent three seasons in Toronto and another three in Minnesota.
During the course of his career, he was a seven-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger (1987, 1988, 1993, 1996) and he also had some success as a manager.
He won Manager of the Year in 2017 when he transformed the Twins by almost 30 games by going from 59-103 to 85-77 in one year.
Robin Yount
Robin Yount, nicknamed "the Kid" and "Rockin' Robin", played as a shortstop and centre fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers for his entire career.
The 1982 and 1989 MVP won the Gold Glove in 1982 and three Silver Sluggers in 1980, 1982 and 1989.
Why do the Milwaukee Brewers play in blue and gold?
In the 1960s, Bud Selig and other Milwaukee civic leaders formed Teams Inc.
This group aimed to prevent the Braves from leaving Milwaukee for Atlanta.
However, these efforts failed, and Teams Inc. was reincorporated into the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, aiming to keep the spirit of baseball alive in the local community.
When Selig acquired the Milwaukee Brewers, he chose red and navy as the team colors, as these colors were entrenched in Milwaukee baseball history.
However, these colors were later scrapped in the 1970s, and the team adopted the nautical theme of the Pilots, including white, blue and gold uniform colors.

A short history of the Milwaukee Brewers logo!
1969
The word “Pilots” was emblazoned inside a baseball in blue. This was the team name in 1969. The logo also featured gold wings.
The logo had red trimming around the outside of the baseball.
1970-1977
When the Pilots moved to Milwaukee and changed their name to the Brewers, it was obvious they were going to have to change their logo.
What did they come up with? A yellow ring around the outside edge with a player hitting a baseball inside and the words “Milwaukee Brewers” in blue lettering at the top and bottom of the logo.
1978-1993
For the Brewers’ second logo in Milwaukee, instead of coming up with one of their own logos, they decided to leave it up to the public.
They held a contest in which the winner would win $2,000. The winner was Tom Meindl, an art student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau-Claire.
The logo had the letters “B” and “M” overlapping each other, to make it look like a baseball glove.
1994-1997
The Brewers’ next logo contained two baseball bats that cross each other, with the letters “B” and “M” going over each other with a blue background in the shape of a diamond.
This is supposed to represent the four bases in baseball.
2000-2017
The Brewers’ next logo was completely changed to “Milwaukee” in gold and “Brewers” in dark blue over a baseball with barley to depict the team’s roots.
2018-2019
One of the Brewers’ newer logos sported the letter “M” with white trim over barley in order to show support for the brewing industry that exists in Milwaukee.
2020-present
Milwaukee’s current logo is a combination of one of their older logos and the one that won in a contest.
It has a dark blue background with gold trim on the outside and the inside. The gold trim represents the city of Milwaukee, along with the team name of the Brewers.
It has a baseball mitt with the letters “B” and “M” overlapping.
