My overall high school experience with Monty Tech was positive. The switch from academic week to shop week and back to academic week was very good to have different experiences each week, especially having a break from academics was nice. This school did encourage students to go to college but the majority of graduates do not go because it is a tech school, so students learn their trades throughout high school.

It's swell and innovative if it wasn't for the fact that there is a lot of racism throughout the school due to it's majority white population.

The staff at Monty Tech seems a little power hungry sometimes, and I often have nothing to do at school. Some of the kids are nice though.

My shop, Vet Science, is what made going to Monty Tech worth it. It has made me so happy and the teachers there are so kind and get me ready for the real world.

Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School (Monty Tech) has provided me with a strong foundation as I graduate and pursue an Undergraduate Education. Providing me with practical experience in my field, as well as great relationships and resources to help me grow academically and as an individual and leader within the school community. The ability to get involved with topics that I am passionate about, including mental health awareness, and community service helped me to meet and collaborate with new and different types of people. In the future, there should be more focus on student involvement, as many students come from different surrounding towns and communities, and providing emphasis on involvement within the school community will enhance student's high school experience at Monty Tech academically as well as socially, helping them to build skills of collaboration, helping them to feel confident in themselves and be involved with future communities.

The food is great, but classes can be hard at times, although there is racism among students that's what needs to change

The best part about Monty Tech is the opportunities it gives you, and the preparedness that you get when you graduate. Half way throughout Junior year and our Senior year, if all of our grades are above a C, you can go out on Co-Op. This is where every other week you can go and work at a job related to your trade and get paid instead of going to school. It gives you the chance to see what it is like to work in the real world, and the opportunity to learn with on-the-job training. Not many schools allow their students to do this, and to be able to is an amazing opportunity. Monty Tech holds students to high expectations and misbehaving is not tolerated. At this school you learn so much about not only academics, but also about being an adult, and working. We are not going to be in school forever, and to learn what happens out of school in jobs, while still in high school is very helpful.

The school provided a fairly nice experience as I was able to meet people from various backgrounds from other towns, allowing our different mindsets and experiences to stimulate out growth. I played a great amount of sports, mainly football, and had a thoroughly enjoyable time with the coaches and teammates. The academics are incredibly rigorous, but they are manageable and help greatly with learning the new material.

No music program. Dopes not excuse students for religous activies. Good for workforce experience. Most staff are good, administration is not well like3d by student body.

Monty Tech has decent academic courses; but significantly lack the option for underclassmen students to complete AP or advanced classes. This results in a lack of credentials for ambitious students aiming to accumulate credits and broaden their academic course loads. Furthermore; there is little to no discussion regarding college for underclassmen, and these resources are still limited for seniors during the application process.

Monty tech is a wonderful school. They really help students prepare for life after high school. The students and their families at top priority. It is a joy to lunch in such a well rounded and diverse environment.

My first half of high school here is definitely better than it would have been had I gone to a traditional, academics-every-week high school. The vocational trade programs are great and there's bound to be something for everyone. My trade program will benefit me greatly once I graduate, giving me a huge head start in the healthcare world and standing out during college applications. It's a big school with lots of students, so there's really never a dull moment at any events like sports games. School spirit weeks are so fun, with pretty good themes most of the time and people always going over the top with their outfits. Overall, of course, it's not a perfect dream high school where everything is always happy, but it's a great school with teachers who most of the time really do care about their students.

The vocational shops are well-funded and advanced, however there is very little college prep and advanced classes

My son is Freshman and the adjustment has been made easier by the fact that the Principal and other staff provide concise and frequent information and info. sessions. The freshman football coaches have been positive and very supportive and the shops are top notch. 100% of last year’s class passed the MCAS, so a huge should out to the hard working academic teachers, too!

I enjoyed attending school at Monty Tech. The teachers and guidance counselers were great and most were very willing to help students succeed. Being at a vocational school is a fantastic experience that more people should get involved with. It allows for a plan coming out of high school so that one can have a job before deciding to go to college.

It was a fun experience, I would suggest trying to make friends out of your shop class. Definitely try new things and let it be a good experience for you.

Shop is great but I wish there was a better variety of academic classes. There really aren’t very many to choose from.

Monty Tech was a place that i could go that i felt welcome and safe, I never thought i would be in a trade school but here i am in college going to study automotive technology, bit different from what i graduated out of, but i am so happy for being able to make the memories that i did at that school.
I was able to come out and be me at that school and feel welcome and safe and not like people were going to make fun of me for being transgender.
I am proud of my school and if i could i would go back in a heartbeat.

My time at Monty Tech helped me be prepared for a career in my trade. This school gave me the chance to have a great job throughout high school and work towards my future.

Great teachers and staff. I learned a lot about animal science and am glad I am a certified veterinary assistant. I really enjoy the Co Op job I got through Monty Tech. I did not have a good experience with my peers on the other hand. Some teachers and administration helped when I needed it but that was not the case with some of the coaches!
